Sugar Creek Coffee Roaster carefully sourced this natural-processed Brazilian coffee from the Mogiana region, which is split between the states of São Paulo and Minas Gerais, and is the most renowned of three major Brazilian growing regions. This region has rolling hills and uneven terrain lending to farms that are small to medium in size. As a Fine Cup lot, it is one of the highest rated cup categories of coffee grading in Brazil, consisting of coffee sorted between screen sizes 14 and 16. This coffee represents an excellent value suitable for a variety of purposes including espresso and cold brew.

Brazilian coffee beans exhibit a nutty sweet flavor, often bittersweet with a chocolaty roast taste, and have a relatively low acidity. Those who enjoy a smooth, mild cup of coffee tend to lean towards Brazilian beans, and it is frequently used in blends by coffee companies to mellow out the flavor profile.About one-third of all of the world’s coffee is grown in Brazil, and much of Brazil’s premium coffee is labeled Santos after the port it is shipped through.

Brazil is the largest exporter in the world, supplying approximately 60% of the world’s coffee – this is due in part to the sheer size of the country. Generally speaking, the majority of coffee grown in Brazil is common low-altitude with an average elevation for coffee production of only about 1,100 meters.

Many high quality espresso blends are made from Brazilian coffee due to the ability of Brazilian beans to take dark roasts without turning overly bitter. This is due in part to the mild, balance flavor of Brazilian coffee beans.
