We are excited to offer this rare and beautiful Panama Gesha! The first time we roasted this coffee and put it through the grinder, we fell in love. Powerful, fruity aromas burst forth, thrilling our noses and making our eyes light up. In the cup, Gesha has a wonderful balance of bright acidity and sweetness, with a citrus intensity complemented by subtler notes of berries, tropical fruit, and jasmine. If you or someone you love is a coffee connoisseur, a wannabe aficionado, or just a coffee lover, then this is a must-have coffee experience.
Over the last 16 years, the Gesha varietal has taken the world by storm. It first gained acclaim by being the top coffee several years in a row at the celebrated Best of Panama auctions. Since then, Gesha coffees have consistently earned some of the highest cupping scores among coffees around the globe. This varietal was first grown in Ethiopia, the birthplace of coffee. In the 1960s, seeds were imported to Panama, where Gesha later gained its fame. Now, farmers are growing it in several countries, trying to replicate the phenomenon.
To preserve Gesha’s superb quality and unique origin characteristics, we only offer it as a light roast. We like it best freshly ground and brewed as a pour over.
At Sugar Creek Coffee Roasters, we specialize in hand crafted, small batch, artisanal roasted coffee. While other roasters typically pre-roast and have beans on the shelf, we don't roast until you place your order, so you can be assured the freshest roasted coffee is delivered to your door. Each coffee order is roasted to the optimal flavor of the coffee bean you order.
