A dry-processed African coffee that drinks like a wet-processed South American?!  Sourcing this coffee was a happy accident for us.  We were searching for a quintessential, loud-berry Ethiopian natural (note: see Ethiopia - Sidamo), and instead we found this subtle, well-rounded, supremely drinkable coffee.  It was like biting into a doughnut expecting raspberry filling and getting a mouthful of Bavarian cream instead.  And then thinking, "huh, maybe I should have ordered that to start with."


This single-origin Harrar coffee is from the eastern-most region Ethiopia, the birthplace of the coffee shrub.  Opening a bag of freshly roasted Harrar, you will be greeted with aromas of caramel and toasted walnuts, both of which translate into the flavor profile.  With great sweetness and mild acidity, this cup has understated notes of stone fruits like plum and nectarine.  Especially for a single-origin, this is a versatile coffee.  It is great as a light or medium roast and makes a delicious drip brew or espresso.
